Safety: educational content, not a licensed pro
SolarControllerFinder provides educational compatibility guidance and buying information. It is not a substitute for a licensed electrician or your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Solar PV systems involve high-voltage DC and substantial fault currents; improper sizing, wiring, or installation can cause fire, injury, or death. Our compatibility checks and code references (including NEC 690.7 and 690.8) are simplified tools to help you learn and shortlist — not engineered system designs. Always verify every value against current NEC code, manufacturer datasheets, and a qualified professional before purchasing or installing anything.
What the tool is
The builder runs a rules engine (documented on the About page) that flags whether a charge controller is plausibly compatible with the panels and battery you enter. It's a decision aid, not professional engineering, tax, or legal advice. State incentive guides are summaries that change frequently — confirm current programs and your own eligibility before relying on them.
Accuracy
Product specs, prices, availability, and incentive programs change. We work to keep the catalog and code references current but can't guarantee every figure is correct at the moment you read it. Datasheets and the manufacturer win any disagreement with our data.
